Redundantcy in the spoken word

Why:

The other day, I got in line at the grocery store and read a sign at the register, "You must be 21 years or older to purchase alcoholic liquor"...Hmmm. I heard one of my co-workers mention some time ago that he was tired because he had to wake up at 3am in the morning. What!!
Once, I heard an announcer at a High School Soccer game say,"On Wednesday, there will be a rescheduled make-up game played."

Hey... in my book, liquor IS alcoholic, 3am can only be in the morning and all make-up games are usually rescheduled.

I really have a problem with this; yet it is acceptable language and used all of the time. Think about this when you take your morning shower provided by a Hot Water Heater.
